ah but they would be correct on a 1942 pistol , the 1931 revolver shown , while excelent would have been fitted with a mkI scale that is checked and lacking the thumb rest [1927-1934]

Beautiful revolver. I have one I bought 10 years or so ago. It is dated 1934 and marked R.A.F. It has the original wood grips (w/o thumb rest) and has 11 very small old worn notches along the top of one of the handguards. I shoot both British issue 170 grain rounds and 200 grain lead reloads and the weapon is dead on at 10 to 20 yards.
 
If I could ever figure out how to upload photos to this site, I would share photos.
