Got material in hand to do them from scratch.

Planning to make about 30 No. 4 type and 20 No. 1 type in this run.

The No. 1 type are being made to fit as a direct replacement for the old Weaver's that are so commonly cursed.

Both are picatinny rail type.

Slot down the middle so that original sights can be used when the scope is off.

Trying to get the cost under $75 each, we will see how the CNC cycle time and anodizing cost work out.
At $3.00 a gallon for gas, I want it leaded, 100 octane, and my windshield washed!

Hooray! I've been itching to get my mitts on one of these since you first mentioned it.

I'd like to see a photo of the No1 mount: got a 7.62 Ishy to play around with.

IMHO, anything under $100 is a bargain for a mount like this.  Low volume work is spendy.  This is my first encounter with these low profile mounts, I like them!  Scope height has always bugged me with the bolt on or no drill mounts, the lowest I have found are the older S&K with the Leupold style rings but they are getting hard to find.  My hat's off to you.

CNC mill is running the top side of the No. 4 mounts as I type this!

Cycle time is much slower than I had hoped, Cry my heavy duty machine is really made for doing large parts, not these small bits.

In order to control cost and keep this a practical project I had to make some decisions limiting the number of variations. Wink

There will be two variations, models available for both the No. 1 and No. 4 receivers. Smile

They are designed to work with sporters or original wood.

Picatinny rail spacing and profile.

"U" notch allows the rail to remain in place while using original sights.

Ending at the charger guide allows an original vernier rear sight to remain in place.

Just one medium length, 5.8" long, running from the aft side of the charger guide to a little forward of the receiver.

This should be enough for almost any normal scope, and more than needed for short red-dot type sights.

Forward end is undercut to clear original wood.

Designed to try to be a direct replacement for the old Weaver bases.

.400" spread between the forward mounting holes like the Weavers.

The main problem we are seeing for replacement is that many times the Weaver bases were poorly mounted.

As a result we cannot guarantee these will always replace them as our mount is too rigid to easily "Fudge" the mounting holes.

Instead of the early version 1/16" roll pin at the rear the new No. 4 design uses a screw and wedge against the charger guide.

The No. 1 will use a third mounting hole, similar to the old Weaver, since the charger guide is thick enough to be drilled and tapped.

Black hard anodize finish over 6061 aluminum.

Hoping to have some finished units in hand by the middle of next week.

It looks like the No.1 may be a little less expensive than the No. 4 as it needs fewer parts made.

I shot some video of the CNC mill cutting parts, but cannot get my system to recognize the camera to upload them. Angry

FREE STUFF!

A couple of free movies, my 1979 Matsuura MV1000C machining the scope rails.
It is running on the original FANUC 3000C control, those of you who run CNC know this is one of the very few examples still in use.
Cheap camera, so the video is not great, but the machine is holding tolerances very well.

Now for the good free stuff, we have a couple of our new Enfield scope mounts that are less than cosmetically perfect.
Free to the first persons to claim them, in the order a PM is received.
A couple of No.1 and No.4 mounts.
Limit one each, only available until the Blem units are gone.
I do need $10.00 for postage via USPS.

Nothing wrong functionally, just cosmetic imperfections from the time it took to perfect the program.

Only available on this site, in this thread.

No. 1 mounts are selling at an introductory price of $75.00, No. 4 at $85.00
Continued availability and future price will depend on how quickly these turn over.

Howdy!  PM sent!  Are any of the less than perfect developmental No 4 mounts still available for $0 plus postage?  I'd love to get my hands on one if so...just let me know if I made it into the "free ones" part of the line. Smile
Thanks!

Time for a pic of the final production version of a No. 4 - 5 mount installed on a rifle.

The No. 1 - 2A mount looks identical but attach differently at the rear.

They do clear original top wood.

Close up pics so you may see the details.
