Here's my take on the "sniper cloing".

A Chermann optic on ein Lee- Enfield, ach du liber Gott!Shocked

The scope is a Hensoldt Fero Z-24, made by a collaberation of Zeiss & Leica.
I have the same model scope on another rifle & really liked the way it handles & the superb optics.
It's kind of, sort of, an upgraded Mk32 in appearance & use, as it has the finger adjustable windage & elevation turrets & is 4X, again similar to the Mk32.
The reticule is a bit "busier" though as it has range estimating tics on the horizontal stadia.
The scope is (as issued) STANAG, so an ARMS STANAG to PICATINNY adaptor was used to replace the H&K claw type mount it came with.

The soft rubber dustcaps are being replaced by "Butler Creek" flip open types. The eyepiece & objective will both be using an objective cover #3a as the little (sharp, pointy) red release lever will bite me on the honker under recoil.Ouch

Rock solid so far, that's about 300 rounds fired since I fitted it.
Then I changed the scope & replaced the rings with the mount adaptor,Geek so at that point everything went into the lap of the gods.

If anyone else gets the urge to do this I did some calculating, allowing for the different trajectory of the  2 rounds.
(The sight is callibrated for NATO spec .308. 147 Gr bullet @ 2850FPS)
Heres how the calculations work out ON PAPER for a 150 gr bullet @2550FPS with a 100yd setup zero. The sight is set up for 100's of meters, not yards & each "click" is 1cm @ 100M. (roughly 1/2 minute clicks)
I won't be able  to get to a range where I can fire at these distances to confirm it for a while.

"1" no change, zero

"2" +3 clicks.

"3" +4 clicks.

"4" +7 clicks.

"5" +10 clicks.

"6" +12 clicks.

This is done in an Excel spreadsheet so I can just punch in numbers for other weights & velocities.

That is nice.  Did you add the cheek piece or is it an original sniper series?

Home-made, carved from a piece of white oak I had laying around.
A little "Olde English scratch & stain remover" & a bunch of BLO.Lamp
