Hello Everyone,
I like this site. Here's a poorly done No4 Mk1 sporter I just finished. My brother in law, RIP, cut it down for weight reasons. My sister thought I might give it a better home so it came too me. I started to buy new wood and restore it, but since I carve gunstocks for others, I thought I'd give this one a new look.
I would welcome your input good or bad. Because I intend to do more "MonteCarlo" style stocks right away and I need to know if I could find a market. Sorry about the Pics quailty, my camera is not the best.

WOW!!! That is incredible and beautiful!. My wife thinks it's nice too.
I do believe your work is marketable.
My rifles are plain janey types because they are in the woods/truck a lot. So I do not have fancy rifles (I'd be to concerned I'd ruin them).

Thanks Guys,
I'm not really sure how many hours I have in this rifle, as I have done two others between picking this one up and finishing it. Best guess would be just over 100 hours.
The others I have done haven't taken half that long because they weren't as ornate....and this wood is for sale. It's a No4 Mk1 rifle.

Stock carving is not my thing, but your work looks really nice. Very well executed.

You have a high level of skill, my only criticizm would be that the scale of the representations is a bit larger than I'd want, too much coverage compared to the content.

Scaled back to about 80% would be more pleasant to the eye.

Personally I prefer plain and practical, I am not really one for excess, but that my friend is some nice work.

If that was my rifle I would be afraid to take it out bush.
But the winters coming,
And the snow will cover tracks,
And I'll be watching,
Because I'm hunting you
