Uh oh, you called the enfield a gun. Hoadie will be along to chastise you for that.
No1 or No4 for me.
Well I'm logging off now before he gets here.

The Rifle I would use of the choices listed is my No4 Mk1 Longbranch. In a real situation would most likely use my M1917 since the barrel is new and I have 1000+ rounds of 30-06 ball on hand. There are some perks in being a Match Director. |

My highly modified folding stock, shortened barrel, red-dot sight equipped, Ishapore 2A!
With the stock folded it can be concealed if necessary, but is still ready to fire. The red-dot sight provides very fast target acquisition. But there would have to be a very good reason for me not to grab my FA AKM-47 and Browning High-Power first.

At $3.00 a gallon for gas, I want it leaded, 100 octane, and my windshield washed!

It'll be either of my No4s: if there is some small veneer of civility left, I'll grab my No4 Mk1/3, since it is set up to look like a hunting rifle.
Richard: I really need to get my mitts on your new scope mount! Can't really use duct tape for this, you know!
If the gloves are off, then it will be the No4 Mk2, with the Cad Technik scope mount, the Parker-Hale iron sights, and most importantly, the bayonet mount.

#1 Mk III*, because it's my favorite rifle. Shoots 2-3" groups with the issue sights, and I do have that lovely, mile long bayonet!
Although, I would have voted #4(T), if you would have included that in your poll, and if only I had one...lol

I would use my new 2a1 Enfield...And for extra long ranges I would use my remington 700P With 8-36x56 Scope and bipod with tactical slong and cheack raiser with rounds on it. Both are in 308(7.62x51).

A L42A1. Because its the only LE I own! Plus I've just finished making a large batch of rounds for it.
Other than that, I think I'd choose any .338 with Steve Kershaw's name on it!

I felt I had to chose the No.5 Carbine.
I don't own a No.5 yet, but a fine example of this little rifle that belonged to a friend was the first Enfield I ever fired much so I'm very familar with it.
The No.5 is easy to carry, and potentially as accurate as any of the others. Its not as easy to shoot as well at longer ranges compared to the heavier rifles, but with the proper loads it can be extremely accurate.

yup - i voted what i had that was accurate per your list , but if i really had to bug out with just one im taking the FAL and all the mags , and every ammo can of 762x51
![]() ![]() ![]() i generally dont respond to these kind of questions because there is usually an agenda , but this did not seem the case here , just a nice enfield exercise , and that can be fun sometimes , the mk2 is my most accurate , and i have enough 303 to actually take it , but i have a firm belief that the 'black rifles' will be the defensive/offensive choice when the SHTF ![]() |
