Good evening gents !! .......
Back in April/06 " .303 Carbine " posted some load data from his shooting friend that owns a 1943 #4 Longbranch in .303 Epps.......that would be me.... I'm pretty new to useing a puter for anything other than as a way to glean information about firearms/reloading etc... This message will be to see if what I type actually appears.... I have been reloading for about 30 years now......and casting/shooting lead bullets also for about 25 years.....I reload for about 16 different calibers........My knowledge of Enfield rifles is limited to what I've learned from computer info searchs in the past 6 years.......but like most Canadian kids growing up in the 1950 s/ 60's there was a Lee Enfield on the gunrack on the wall in plain view .....it was my fathers #5 Jungle Carbine....... My test rifle was a "sporter" and everything but the wood was in very good condition ...so I purchased a Ramline synthetic stock.....and a scope and mount and had it reamed to .303 Epps.. yes..... no doubt this proceedure was not in keeping with the "Faithfull" however as I'm fond of saying.....IT WORKS FOR ME!! Load Data to be posted next! hs4570.................your mileage may vary |

All loads were shot off the bench with sand bags and the 3x9 scope on 9X..
A lot of my targets for the accurate loads... and i mean over 60 % show two shots touch or almost touch and the third is like a flyer... just never managed to hold the rifle in the same spot for these 3rd shots...... The barrel is free floated in the plastic stock and keeping it on the front bag just in front of the magazine seems to work best at the range.... The rifle has 3 magazines that were altered to accept 5 Epps ctgs..... but all shots were single loaded.... First........you have the actual velocities for these on John's original April post... ....( IVI, Imperial, Dominion cases and bullets are from same factory in Canada but different names for different decades ......)
