In a recent trade for other parts, I received this hand made #1/MK3 target purpose fore end and full length one piece hand guard made by the famous Percy Pavey of Australian target shooting fame. The full length hand guard is used when installing a micrometer rear sight for target shooting so the shooter can have a proper sight picture without the original factory issued rear sight assembly. Its hand made from straight grain wood. It's all straight and not warped or bent. Freshly oiled with raw linseed oil. Tons of work went into forming this wood!! I am interested in selling the set. I may consider a trade. Unreal quality here and very scarce! I added a pic of a 1917 #1/MK3 to help show the fit. These items are also for sale on another venue. I will mark this set sold when that occurs.
PM me if interested.

Very nice!
I agree the original rear sight is very distracting with a P-H fitted. I'm looking (casually) for a globe forsight for my No1 because I hope the higher sight plane will cleat it up a little. I also had a suggestion from Zed to get a spare reasight blade & invert or file it flush as well.
