he!!o, I am Max. I had been lurking around a few forums for a while but decided to join this one as it seems to have a good mix of nationalities and characters. I enjoy hearing a cross section of views in a free and friendly forum... What better way to learn from and to hopefully contribute occasionally to the collective knowledge.

I'm not new to Lee Enfields, being heavily involved in service rifle competition a while back and having gathered a small collection of mainly Lithgow rifles over a thirty year period, although more so since 1996 than before.

Cheers, and thank you for providing this great environment.

Now Hoadie, just sing along with me!

Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong,
Under the shade of a Coolibah tree,
And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boil,
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda,
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me,
And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boil
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Down came a jumbuck to drink at that billabong
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee,
And he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda,
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me,
And he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Up rode the squatter mounted on his thorough-bred
Down came the troopers One Two Three
Whose that jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker bag
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Waltzing Matilda Waltzing Matilda
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me

Whose that jolly jumbuck you've got in your tucker-bag
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Up jumped the swagman sprang in to the billabong
You'll never catch me alive said he,
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

Waltzing Matilda Waltzing Matilda
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong
You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me.

So I went out & bought some cheese from Ireland...that is made with GUINESS!! Bought a big WHACK of it! AH, life is good. (Jane from Chicago says I need to get religion...so now I'm looking for that ISREALI cheese: "CHEESES of NAZERETH"

You want to learn / understand Australian ?

You need to learn the sang, Waltzing Matilda

Everytime you get a word wrong you have to take a drink of your Foster's.

It worked for my Father in 1943 when he was in Navy.

When I was little we had a 78 record of it till my Mother broke it over my Father's head. That what he got for marrying a red headed women from the south named Matilda.

Hoadie, you are turning in to a "Cheese aficionado".

You might say “Paddy, you've had too much to drink.” but I always have a Fosters in the cupboard for my mates from down under.

My Father was in the US Navy (Corpsman) from 1937 to 1963 and served with many Aussie s during WWI and Korea.
