Hallo ,
here in Italy , and also in the whole EU ( six months about ) it is impossible to find these bullets that in the past was easily availables ....the importer say us we "could be seen it again " about jan . 2015 what's happened to Sierra Co. ? they have problems ? do you know some reasons of this delay in orders executions ? meanwhile i noticed the S&B FMJ 180 gr. over the IMR4064 it is a splendid alternative ( ...and also cheaper ) for my 1945 Long Branch regards CC |

The situation here in the States has been a bit crazy when it comes to ammunition and components for a few years. There are as many theories as to why this has occurred as one would care to listen to.....quite a few more than that, actually. If one reads a bit on the firearms forums, there are a lot of closets, garages, and basements that are bursting with ammunition / components.
The story (which I got at third hand, so who knows??) from one manufacturer is that they have been so busy cranking out their standard products (in the case of a bullet maker, these would be bullets for 9mm, .357, .45, .223, .308, etc.) that they just don't have regular runs of the more specialized items, e.g, the .311-.312 bullets we use. If they have any slack in their production of standard items, then they'll produce some of the items they sell less of....which is only logical, I suppose. As this year has proceeded, I am finding it somewhat easier to get powder and primers, and standard bullets are now very easy to find. Does this mean there will soon be more plentiful supplies from Sierra and others in the more specialized bullets? Who knows?
