Yes it is and the ones that I've had had a saw cut and hole through the barrel and a DP stamp.

Yes it is Maple.

Here is a photo of the barrel cut and DP stamp. The top of the knox is also drilled.

interesting , what a fun project piece to restore - even if as a wall hanger ,

I thought to restore it, but finding first model wood, bolt head, sight etc, will be so hard and expensive, that I won't try.... And barrel is cuted. I measure only 35cm.

regards

no worries - i understand...................

i respect that - there are many in the throws of just such an endeavor right now that are more than frustrated by the lack of parts and amount of effort this takes ,
the parts are out there but the cost is great and unlike past times when it might be not only easy but economical , today things are very different ...

i have friends that are giving up - and they are close to complete but missing just that right piece ,
i understand , in the end these are old , they will never be originals , they will always be what we make of them , hopefully someone will care enough to treasure them when we are gone as we have ,

it is a fun bit as is - just not the way i would like it to be , but im not certain i could fund it either

he!!o A square 10
If I find a bolt head 1st type and a magazine, I will take it to complete the mecanik part of the rifle, to put it for a display about SMLE. Moreover the problem on this piece is if I put a bolt head I can't close the bolt??
We never know maybe I will have the occasion to find some piece for it, and don't worry if I can I buy it to restore. Today it isn't priority :)
