headed to nashville -

its been a roller coaster getting set up and im sure it will be a whirl wind getting done , with all my hopes to cram extra stuff in this year our time got cut short again by unexpected but very acceptable unexpected things ,

so we are off to shoot for the future again , check out their website if you care to see what this is about , they added trap back so this year we shoot both the sporting clays and the trap again ,

if you look close i am the third photo in - my cap says it to those that know - that photo has been in their album for a number of years now ,

WWWWWWell , short story is it is a long trip [17hrs] and we are tired , but we hads a great time [made difficult by that hurricane] it was cool cloudy drizzly but we made it all the way through before the rain started in earnest .

the club is set up so the trap is shot toward the interstate - and the prison so its a very different backdrop to the marshland of out local club , the wind was at our backs , my average is 21-22 , i shot a 19 & 20 pushed me to the middle of the pack of able body shooters quickly as there were many great shooters there , gimp took first in chair trap ,

we had fun at sporting clays and got to shoot with a relatively new chair shooter that i think aaron helped a lot , the young man has a fairly good attitude and is open to new suggestions i think he will be back , the young lady he was with had never shot a shotgun before but she got help from the squad , hit some , had fun and thinks its something she may well do with him in the future ,

a lot of this trip is planned , some of it is adlib , this year i got a surprise when during lunch Aaron was asked up on stage to give a presentation , it was a short version of one of his motivational speeches , they finally took advantage of his profession and it was very well accepted , he gave out a good number of cards and i suspect he will be speaking with a lot of these folks in the upcoming months ,

since it was raining friday and we did not want to shoot in the rain before the event we did a little touring of nashville , hit a couple of the gunshops [gimp bought a sight for his deer shotgun]and the antique archeology shop , for those that dont see a lot of american TV - they are the "american pickers" guys , we didnt have a lot of time because we got in late - slept in and had some things we did need to do at the gunclub ,

breakfast was great at the waffle house , the lady that has been serving us for years was still there , she always remembers us and treats us great , she has been there 22 years - we sent her a card two years ago , the waffle house is a southern thing we dont have them up here in the north ,

the second surprise i got this year was getting to try about three brands of ammo i had never seen before it was kind if fun - they all worked fine of coarse but it was a nice chance to see and use some i might one day be interested in seeking out , im used to federals , winchesters , even rio and estates [and laterly herters] but these were not any i had seen before , we see fioche and of coarse remington , these were something id not seen before and wish id snatched up a boxtop from each ,

I forget Waffle House is Southern oriented. (Grits with everything)Dead

They have great home-fries though. But I can't do the "everything" version, Bert's chili & sausage gravy together is a bit much for me.

Fiocche shotgun she!!s are getting pretty common over my way, A_square. I have not shot it before myself since I am still working through my old stockpile of she!!s yet. I just don't do much shotgunning in general.

I had an odd occurrence at a Waffle house when I was working for GE back in the day, I was eating at the Waffle house in Mobile Alabama off of 69 and the Gal who waited on me ended up being the little girl that lived across the street from me when I was living in Derby Kansas when My Mother was still married to my Dad !!
Small world !!!
But as I did a lot of work at International paper mill in Mobile, I ended up eating at that Waffle house for a couple of years...... She was still working there last time I did work there !!
As for different Shot She!!s, I reload now , and most of my she!!s are all different types and colors !!! Hoadie hooked me up with some she!!s with a brand name of challenger !!! kind of a sky blue color !!!
For years I used nothing but Remington and Federal!!!  I stopped using Winchester after an acquaintance of mine blew 2 shotguns up because of them, Winchester did replace his shotgun barrels though.
I have used Wolf shot she!!s also !!! and my 1100 Remy loves them, I found I was making further shots with the wolf ammo than I was getting from the Remy and Fed she!!s !!!
I may have to put my reloads up against the Wolf ammo and see if Im making a good load compared to the wolf !!!

yea , im looking at my stockpile of remington and federals and i guess ill be shooting those as factory loads till i die , ive got over 30 flats of each i only shoot a couple to three flats a year , they provided the she!!s at the shoot i just attended ,

and for SASS i only shoot a flat or two a year and i have 25 flats or more of my 3/4oz cowboy loads -based on federal premium plastic and paper hulls ,

somehow i think it might make national news if the media knew that but its just a decent stock for a casual shooter - the ATA guys shoot 10k rounds without thinking every year , i dont think the media lives in the real world - they definitely dont research their topics beyond their "own" needs , to meet their agenda

I work with some people that kind of freaked out the other day when we were talking about how much ammunition is kept on hand. It really makes some people react strangely. When the .22 shortage was going on I was nervous about only have about 200 rounds left. I got that built back up a little now.

isnt that the truth ? the ammo is harmless without the gun , the gun and ammo are harmless without a human handling or mishandling it ,  not one of my guns can load itself - none of my ammo can load itself - neither have ever threatened another human being because i have not , wont unless threatened ,

my guns have killed less people in my possession than ted kennedy's car ,

its funny how every major shooting in this country instantly triggers calls for "gun control" before all the facts are in , then as the facts come out - as they have started to with the oregon shooter , we find out there are not only known mental health issues - but also that those that knew did absolutely nothing or even went the other way concealing it ,
the recent shooters mother is in deep doo doo i think - she knew and concealed ,  aided and abetted the situation to escalate to the fateful day ,

we dont need gun control - we need people control - particularly the criminal and insane , all the gun laws in the world wont stop them
