Good Morning,

New to the forum. I have a 1918 MK III* SMLE.  It's been sporterized and I would like to eventually return it to original spec.

It looks like its in pretty good shape. There's an asterisk on the barrel which I have come to learn means that a gunsmith has found rust in the barrel.  But other than that, just some dust and gunk.

Before I touch it with anything, does anyone have some good tips on cleaning these old rifles? I qouted the above post from SHAMU two years ago, but i know that was in reference to a No4 MK2 so it may not be helpful.

Thanks in advance!
