Unfortunately for him his receiver ring is DP stamped. "It is however marked DP on the metal band on the top cover, directly
behind the front sight, and again very clearly on the middle of the nose
cap right in front of the bayonet lug."

oh - BTW , in canada there was a red stripe painted on M1917s to quickly distinguish the 3006 ctrg from the P1914 303 ctrg , similarly ive seen M1917/P1913 bayonets marked to distinguish them readily from the similar P1907 but i always wondered at that seeing only a few P1913 bayonets ever got into circulation with smooth P07 grip scales - both the P13 & M17 bayos had two grooves in their scales for ID purposes [they are interchangeable for each other of course] from the P07

I didn't read that as receiver ring. I read it as the metal cap on the upper hand guard, directly behind the front sight.
And the nose cap, both of which could be replacements taken from a DP. It sounds out to me that it is possibly a non-DP rifle.

I'll say! The Blue Jays bull-pen is hopeless this year. (Methinks you meant "pictures") |
