he!!o gents  ,

it is a pleasure to come back after a long period ( i was away ) -

well ,  i would like  pose  the following question :

me and others friends collectors of enfields rifles we have noticed a particular mark on ours
Long Branch n.4 rifles

this mark it seem can be found ( ...we think )  only on the Long Branch rifles as in the photo

some of us think it could be a LB factory inspection mark   , but we seen a wide variety of marks
there is also a  G2Q and  a D3  - i have not the photo but it is ever in the same position

in our opinion difficultly the LB factory could have had so many inspection marks

some of you , could be able to know the real cause / history of this mark , and  be so gentle to let us know ?

waitin for hearing from you

Thank you and best regards

one of mine is at hand , the others are out of reach for a bit -

my '41 mkI [converted to mk 1/2] does not have this mark , i doubt my '42 mkI* has it either or i would have a record of it , and my Cno7 does not by my records either

i think so as well , many saw service after the original and yes most countries added their own markings , rack numbers to re-serialisation , many added crests and such
