According to this guy -they were made in two locations. I was always believing it was only FAZ that made 'em. Certainly, mine is

absolutely and BSA made them first in 44-45 , my first wasa BSA , i kinda wish i still had it , but FAZ made the last of them in late 47 , 

i will add here that there are a lot of fake no5s out there - there are no4s that were cut down to look like them , they have no lightening cuts and one needs to look under the stock to see this in addition to the visible areas to be certain , he has reason to be concerned , 

then there are those pesky no1s that keep getting paddled as the "jungle rifles" - even worse when passed off as the aussie no6s - there were very few of those made and they are huge dollar items , if you buy one be very aware what you are purchasing ,
