I have been using IMR 4064 with quite good results.

Load Data:
Case - Remington
Primer - Winchester LR
Bullet - Hornady 174gr. FMJ/ Sierra 174gr. MatchKing
Powder - IMR 4064/40.5gr.

However, I have a large quantity of Varget and would like to try to see just what it can do compared to IMR 4064.

The problem is information about using this powder with the 174gr. bullet is all over the scale.  My Sierra manual uses between 32.5 and 38.4 gains of Varget.

The Hodgdon site (Varget) states that you should use between 38.0 and 42.0 grains.  Others have stated that you should use between 31.6 and 39.1 grains of Varget.

What I'm asking is for anyone who has used Varget as a load to please provide your data that I can get a hold of something solid to try.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I love Varget when I can get it. I load the Sierra 180 spitzer (also when I can get it) on 38.5 grains of Varget. It benches 1.5" at 100 yards. I shot my lifetime high 200 yard prone score with it and have won 2 CMP Vintage Military Rifle matches with it.  I am near fanatical in my devotion to that load.

My reloads with IMR 4064 has surpassed 1.5" @ 100 yards (Ref: http://www.enfield-rifles.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=6745&PID=66013#66013)

I'm hoping to find a load that is better than my IMR load using Varget.

The Woodleigh Bullets site provides data for their 215 gr. bullet, 36.0 - 39.5 gr. Varget. This seems consistent with the data posted previously for the lighter bullets.
