HI all i finely dug my enfiled out and it shoots well but i only have a few speer 123gn 303 fmj rounds left.

ive been looking for a supply of brass and bulk bullets. and had a few questions

1 im working up low charge loads for cfe 223 useing the 123gr fmjs i have till i get them just under 2000fps with the intention of useing that data as a starting point for giveing the berrys 123.gr spire point copper plated .311 7.62 rounds a try for target shooting/plinking. and was wondering if anyone has used them.

2 has anyone ever ordred brass from reloaddepot Link http://reloaddepot.com/product/303-british-fired-brass/

i havent found any bad info for them nor positive info site kinda looks cheessey if ya get my meaning. was wondering if anyone had ever bouoght anything from them.

3 anyone know of a good site to buy bulk .311 jacked bullets or cast plated or coatted at a resonable price,

NCR

I have been using a reduced 303 Brit load with the Berry's 123g plated bullets. I found some old reduced load data from Sharpe, Complete Guide To Handloading 1937.
Using Berry's 123g @ COAL of 2.850", 15g of Unique is giving 2000 fps.

Sounds like a nice load, how's accuracy?

Good for you guys! I tinkered with some .312" 125gr jacketed ones "for the AK" I was given but accuracy was not good, maybe plated is better suited?

Load the plated bullets as if they are cast lead. Should do OK out to 100 yds, maybe 200, but you will need to raise up the rear sight accordingly.

Did you notice any difference cleaning after the plated bullets?  Any residue, leading etc?

There is no leading in the bore. The plated bullets are rated for 2400 fps and I'm only pushing them at 2000 fps. The plating completely encapsulates the bullet. I'm using Unique powder so, there is a bit of carbon fouling.

Very interesting thanks.

Working on a 35-303, seems like plated bullets would be a good fit.
