I decided to give the Eley Edge ammo another try, in one of the No8 Rifles.
So I added some CCI Standard ammunition in to the test to compare. The Eley is 13 Euro's a box and the CCI is 6 Euro's a box (when buying a pack of 10 boxes). This No8 has a Schmitt Bender scope added (X1.5 to X6), the test was shot at 50m using a sandbag front support. For the test I used a 100m Bench target, with six targets. Three targets for each box. Alternating between Eley and CCI to ensure similar barrel temperature evolution. Right hand targets for CCI, Left hand targets for Eley, starting from the lower targets. 5 rounds on each. Then 10 rounds on middle and top target. It proves that this rifle prefers the cheap stuff! I only made minor adjustments to the scope, 1 click up and 1 left after the lower targets, then one more click up after the middle. I still needs minor adjustment, but the CCI looks very promising! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

That rather parallels my experiences. Out of sheer cussedness try a box of the much maligned "Remington Thunderbolts". They've come up trumps in every gun I've tried them in (all 2 of them)

Oh yes, indeed! I bought a lifetime supply of them once I figured out they worked beautifully in my 10-22, They retailed for $11.00 a BRICK! ![]() I further compounded the overstocking by turning in a few boxes at one of those "Get Killer Boolitts, Every time you fire a 10-22 10 cops die" was the blurt at the time, off The Streets. They brought in a limit @ "a buck a boolitt", but I'd made my point & then went back to K-mart & immediately reinvested in more of them. ![]() |
