Goosic. Very nice fabrication. You obviously know your stuff. My project will retain the angle of the bottom of the magazine only because I, personally, thinks this is one of the defining looks of the Lee Enfield. As I mentioned earlier, I've actually become comfortable shooting and carrying my Sporter that previously had a PH 5 Rd magazine but now has an original 10 Rd. My "project" will probably end up being a 6 or 7 Rd mag, and hopefully no work needed on the mag spring. Thanks for sharing your expertise and project! Gave me lots of ideas for the future!

You shouldn't have to mess with the follower spring at all. The only thing you will have to do is, shorten the auxiliary spring on the front of the magazine.

Mag springs are fine unaltered. I have 2 5-rounders & both have the normal "Z" (or is it "W") springs.

The scary thing is it fits better than the Parker-Hale 5-rounder!

Did my 10 Rd to 5'ish Rd magazine conversion today. As per Goosics measurements. Used a battery powered band saw and a MIG wire feed welder. Buddy practiced on the piece of magazine I had removed. Turned out awesome! All in? Maybe two hours. Goosic probably saved me at least two hours figuring out stuff.

I'll bet quite a few of our members here would entertain the idea of having you fine fellows fabricate more of these just for our membership? I know I'd buy at least a couple or three. Just a thought to throw out there.....

Yea! RifleMags.co.uk got their stock of 5 round magazines in for the No 4 & No 5 this morning. They are expensive, but I don't care. I dislike the 10 round in that my Scout is a hunting rifle, it is always in the way.

Yay! Do you have any experience with these? No offense intended, but most of the aftermarket stuff has been "dicey" at best!

I have 10 rnd mags for all my Enfields..Including my '16 PH sporter.
Way back in the past..I didn't see any need for a 5 rnd mag(& they were inexpensive - read almost free - in those days).
Now they want an arm, leg & your first born for a 5 rounder.

I'm fortunate in that a fellow forum memeber sent me a 5 rnd mag for my '16 sport.

Man, ya gotta just LOVE the folks on this forum!!

I'm glad my wife does not know how many thousands of dollars that I've spent buying stuff from them.   I guess I should say I've bought more than a few Enfield mags and parts from them over the years.
