Had wanted to get to the range today to try those new 180 Sierra Pro Hunters I loaded up with 39 grs H4895. Had to trap a neighborhood stray cat that laid waste to about 1/3 of my vegetable garden. I got him! Man, was he p#ssed!! Off to the pound with him!! Dog catcher brought the trap back and he had a big bandage on his finger. He said he'd dealt with this one before!

That's one tough feral kitty! Been in that situation before, it's quite dangerous.

I loaded up some Sierra 180 gr PH's a few months back and still have not got to shoot them yet.  I think with 40 gr Re 15 (need to check that) so I can compare to my match load that uses 174 gr SMK.  I've got a .30 cal ammo can full of various loads with Varget and Re 15 to try.

Had a small black bear visit the chicken coop last night before dark, didn't seem to care about the chickens.  But, the raccoons are plotting a break in...

We have those pesky furry creatures here where I live too. The raccoons get relocated after falling into the trap but the bears....well they get frightened off with banging pots and pans so far.

had to dispatch a mother skunk 2 weeks ago. didn't want to..but she kept finding her way back. recon she had babies (newborn) there. it's amazing what a mother will do to get to her babies.
2nd time returning - I had to terminate. (made me angry. she was only doing what nature told her)

Hoadie!!  You got rid of that poor defensles Skunk ??? I thought you liked cats ???  A Skunk is nothing more than a super charged smelly cat !!!  you should have give it a hug when you caught it !!!

I was working in Paris Texas years ago, it got cold , I was working nights, so I went to my car to get my insulated coveralls !  and as I got the first leg into them , this little Peppy Lapew came bouncing toward me!!! Well all I can say is I did real good running with one leg in the coveralls , I get to the gate and hit the button to get the operators to open the gate , when it finally opens they try and tell me to hurry up , but all I hear over the speaker is a bunch of operators laughing so hard and one in the back ground laughing and saying, "I wonder how pissed that guy would be if you didnt open the gate and he got sprayed !!!  Well when I did get to talk with them, after they stopped laughing , I told them I would have just came in and sat with them the rest of the night if I would have got sprayed !!!  They were watching me on CCTV ...just wish they would have recorded that !!!!
