Went to the range today to retest the Lapua D166 7.62/.3105" FMJBT bullets using my No4Mk1/2 with the newly installed Fazackerly 5 groove barrel. I had to resight the scope due to the weight of the 200grn bullet compared to the 174grn projectiles. The 200grn bullets hit almost 6 inches lower @ 100 yards. After getting as close to center as possible I just started shooting, not really trying to be accurate, just seeing if I was going to have the issues I had last time using a 2 groove barrel and having the bullets keyholing the target. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with the overall groupings. A couple of flyers both high and low but still within acceptable limits. I used 33.3grns of IMR4064 and WLRM primers. OAL was 3.08". No ruptures or splits and recoil was very mild. These bullets were designed to tumble once inside a body and I think I just might use them for hunting this year. The bullseye is 3"...
