Is the metallurgy as good as the "western" made rifles?
Are they safe to shoot (for the most part)?

yes , they were made on british machinery under british supervision , for the most part , if you want a complete collection , i once did have 5 indian rifle[no3 , 2A , 2A1 , brit-410 , US-410 ]/shotguns but no paki no4 , and im missing an ausie lithgow and an SA rifle , so i stopped thinking that way , but i commend those that do

Hello Gentlemen...I'm new here and hoping ya'll can help me with some info I need.
My first deer hunting rifle was a 303 British Enfield Jungle Carbine which I loved, but unfortuantely wasn't wise enough to hold onto it, trading it in towards the purchase of a 30-06, which I soon regretted. I always wanted to purchase another jungle carbine and recently bought one online assuming it was a .303, since I had never known of any in a different caliber. In fact when I contacted the seller, I referred to it as a .303 jungle carbine and was never corrected by the seller. Well as it turns out, its a Pakistan 7mm. She looks great considering the age, the bore is very good as is the metal/bluing. The only eyesore is the top of the butt pad, which is about 1/4" too short to cover the entire butt and is inletted into the butt, a 1/4" from the top of the butt. My research tells me the ammo for this rifle may very well be Remington .280, but I have not been able to find any literature/info that specifically says the Rem .280 ammo will in fact fit/shoot from this gun...Can anyone here help me with this matter of information ? I appreciate any and all feedback.
Thanks guys...Irish51
