The great primer shortage continues in the UK and a friend who is giving up shooting has offered me, (which I have accepted) a 1000x Federal LR "Champion" Primers.
I used Federal small pistol primers way back in the 1980's but have not seen Federal for sale in recent years.
Are they regarded as a "budget" primer in the US? They don't appear to have any market dominance over here in the UK.
Mind you neither did Magtech but that's all that is generally available at the moment.

Mick, I think the 210 is their standard Large Rifle primer. I have some, but don’t think I have used them yet. Mine are in the old red box, before they used the “champion” name. Have used the “champion” small pistol version before.  The more expensive ones are the Gold Medal match primer.

They should be fine, I know shooters who only use Federal primers.

Federal Champion 210 Large Rifle primers are excellent primers but be aware that they also make Gold Medal 210M (Match) primers that are manufactured to an even higher standard.  I've used both and haven't really noticed much of a difference in my trusty old milsurp rifles which seem more particular about the bullet and powder.

I use Federal primers for my .303's.
They seem very reliable, I have never had a misfire with these.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Thanks all!
That's given me some confidence in them.

Federal is a big name maker here in the U.S.

We don't have much choice where I live. Not much variety, mostly Federal... when primers are available. Been in short supply the last couple of years.
