This is the Lithgow No.1 Mk.III that my good friend bought. I was finally able to get the pictures uploaded. I haven't had much time to be online lately. Work has been absolutely crazy, I'm hoping I've seen the worst of it pass and will be able to spend a little more time online. Eric Edited by Eric - March 16 2006 at 1:04pm |

BTW, the rifle was FTR'd and the barrel appears to have never been shot. It is an absolutely beautiful rifle. He was able to walk out the door for only 300.00 total. That includes DROS and tax. Eric |

Gday Eric, Certainly is a fine example your friend has there. I have a No1 MK111* 42 Lithgow and thought i had an immaculate rifle..until now. Lucky bugger! |

Very nice... Almost makes me ashamed being an Aussie and not owning an old No.1. |

Nice. Interesting sling. If it is a standard webbing sling, it is on inside out. |

uh...bad news. it looks like one of those kit rifles that are made by JJ Co. from NY. Look on the receiver for those marks...then do a search for that company on yahoo. The company takes leftovers and make huge amounts of money off of them. Seriously...look it up, that forearm is likely to shatter after about 15 rounds.

Eric, if it is a JJ put-together, the rifle could be missing the brass
recoil blocks they put on the coachwood furniture to keep it from
cracking. Do a search, then pull off the wood to make sure the recoil
blocks are installed before putting too many rounds through it.

I pulled the entire rifle apart and ALL of the markings are original. There is not a single mark that shouldn't be there. Also, I noticed there are NO import marks!! Not only is it the real thing, but it appears to have made it into the US undetected/unregistered. Eric |
