Well I`m done, the only legal army style rifles in my collection are Lee Enfilds everything else with the exception of M1 Garanads and anything that remotely looks like one oh and Norwegian AK47`s and SKS`s are left. And Those are soon to be gone. I`m now the proud owner of $25K of scrap metal. When is Trump taking over Canada?, certainly not holding out any hope of anybody putting Canada back to where it should be, not even PP leader of the pretty much useless Conservatives. They certainly don`t have what it takes to topple this current gov`t. That`s been proven a few times already. And if the Libs thinks this is making Canada safer their more stupid than anyone can give them credit for. When you`re talking 10`s of thousands of dollars worth of personal property, how many think people will just walk away from that kind of investment before it`s too late. There will be no buy back for the average Joe, just search warrants, confiscation and arrests. The Canadian legal criminals will be on the streets with premo firearms. |

The "threat" of confiscation in Canada has been going on since the early '80's with Alan Rock... I'll believe it when I see it. Not gonna happen in my life time. On one hand, last week you have some "expert" talking to the Canadian press aboot a US invasion and how they could never control all of our country. They referenced the Taliban tactics. Nice to be compared to those A-holes! My point is, how does a citizenry defend itself when all their weapons have been confiscated and destroyed? Can't have both... The fact that our press would even print this s$#t shows how we aren't trying to work with the US, just poke the bear. I'm embarrassed to be Canadian.

Has there ever been an example of less restrictive firearms ownership laws being passed? Once the path to ban ownership of certain firearms begins, it’s only a short step to confiscation. Might take a while, but I wouldn’t discount that possibility. Ask those who live in the UK and AU.

During the Israeli invasion their gov`t allowed personal firearms use so average joe could defend. Canada will never play ball with that nut job to the south. If we do, it will just show how much of pussies we really are. We got the stuff, you want than pay, screw all this fare trade sh!t. We got squarely kicked in the knackers You`re embarrassed, I`m fed-up. That some `expert` isn`t wrong in his thinking.... its kind of a wake up call. Me and a lot of other smart people see this as a play towards some kind of take over. Time will tell.

It was a Greek freighter that had an on-board fire. The crew couldn't contain it & so ran for land & dropped anchor to prevent it drifting onto the shore. Then abandoned it. It was abandoned for some time off the entrance-way to Bridgetown Barbados. Its cargo was dubious & poorly stored. The decision was eventually made to sink it as an artificial reef. at 13.8 N, 59.38 W I was on The "Cunard Countess" in port there the day she was scuttled. |

Yes. The Texas State legislature passed 'Constitutional Carry' in 2021 which removed the requirement to have a state issued license to carry a handgun, further, they expanded the 'Castle Doctrine' from just your home or vehicle to anywhere you have the legal right to be. Some years ago Texas passed a law preventing companies from banning employees from keeping their legally owned firearms in their vehicles on company property. Lastly, and somewhat related Texas lowered the legal bar to using lethal force when defending yourself after dark.

I should have stated the obvious, in any country but the US?
GA also no longer requires a WCL to purchase or carry a firearm (concealed or otherwise) within the state.

In other news, Texas State representative Pat Fallon filed a Bill to protect drivers who might injure protestors, unfortunately it didn't make it onto the floor for a vote. Here is the wording:
A person operating a motor vehicle who injures another person with the motor vehicle is not liable for the injury if, at the time of the injury: (1) the person operating the motor vehicle was exercising due care; and (2) the person injured was blocking traffic in a public right-of-way while participating in a protest or demonstration. |

That's excellent idea! But could be taken out of context and be used as a defense for terrorists who drive slowly into crowd's!..

Honk, just the mere mention of Alan Rock gets my blood pressure up! There was a time in Canada when we were pretty much left alone to enjoy our guns. Sure, Full Auto ownership was grandfathered in in the Seventies but just about everything else was wide open. I bought a semi auto U.S. Rifle M14 and enjoyed it at shooting competitions as well as taking it on several hunting trips. Its ownership and use wasn't restricted at all so long as you had an FAC. The gubmint couldn't stand seeing so many happy citizens enjoying their sport so they placed many firearms on the Restricted list, my M14 being one of them. No more hunting trips with the rifle but at least I could still take it to the range, right? Well, can't have citizens having fun with firearms, the gubmint thought so they went even further and placed many Restricted firearms on the Prohibited list, M14s included so now my rifle became a safe queen. Canada is safe the Libs proclaimed! Uh-Oh! Is that a 10 round magazine on that rifle? The gubmint may not have kicked in any doors but they did outright ban ownership of many firearms for any class of collector back in the Eighties, no grandfathering of any sort most notable being the USAS 12, Striker 12, Spas 12 and LAW 12 all being shotguns and the G3 rifle.

The M14 rifle never became a prohib until May/2020 unless as of 1998 it was a model of a converted select fire which would have changed it from a restricted to prohib class firearm.. And even then they were grandfathered. That`s what happened to my AK`s, FN FAL`s and my M14 which was neither a conversion nor restricted until OIC 2020. Used my M14 right up to May 2020. Until OIC 2020 those deemed to be restricted or grandfathered firearms never changed. The only real change was now you can`t own them anymore. Plus nearly 2000 more added to the banned list. Army bolt guns are next, Unless all the liberals in Canada are assinated. As for Automatics, there`s only a handful of legit licensed owners/businesses still allowed to keep. Private ownership of such is probably less than 200 now, and those owners ain`t getting any younger. When they die, the machine guns are confiscated and destroyed. No legacy what so ever. The Mar7th 2025 addition includes every conceivable M1 carbine styled rifle including Rugers 1022/M1, Swedish Ag styled semi`s Rashids, Hakims, VZ 52, VZ52/57 bull pup shot guns and many more. Funny though how they keep passing on the sks, and garand family of firearms. I`m sure they`re next. I`ve also heard that rifles capable of long distance accuracy will be deemed sniper rifles and banned as well. This is how they`re skirt the whole hunting class of rifles issue. The libs know they`re done and the private ownership of all firearms to civilians will be complete before Oct 2025. Do you actually think they care if you`re a hunter?? nope, that`s why we have grocery stores.
