yes , i know we all pay them -= or do we ? are illegal's paying them ? or are they just applying for refunds > that might be the next fraud case , and yes i want these investigations to produce some real results , prosecutions and to recoup some of our money - pay down the debt whatever but get urmoney back and either deport or execute those that stole it , or jail them if we cant shoot them ,
this is the biggest fraud perpetuated on the american public - they stole our money , lets get them in cuffs , NOW

Too true, unfortunately. I worked with a Mexican woman who did taxes at tax time for H.&R. Block as a side gig to make some additional money. Her dead-beat alcoholic husband bailed on her and their three kids, fled back to Mexico so he wouldn't have to pay child support so she struggled to make ends meet.
Here's what she told me, and it really pissed her off! Hispanic couples would specifically ask for her since she spoke Spanish fluently AND they figured she wouldn't turn them in for tax fraud like the pinche Gringos would. Here's the scam: they would file their taxes claiming they had nine children so as to get the maximum refund based on child credits even though they may have only had two or three children. When my Mexican Lady friend would ask for some proof the tax filers would nudge-nudge wink-wink and tell her the kids were born in Mexico, lived in Mexico but that they 'supported' them. After all, why wouldn't a fellow Hispanic help other Hispanics rip off the American taxpayer, right? She told me that was their attitude. That attitude really pissed my friend off. Even though she was born in Mexico she was proud to be living in the greatest country in the world where she worked hard, paid her taxes, and raised her kids to enjoy their heritage but to be good Americans. She went to her boss to complain about all the Hispanics ripping off the American taxpayer and was told that it was H&R Blocks policy to ignore the tax fraud and go ahead and file their return. When my friend stated that she would personally turn the fraudsters in she was told that she would be fired and never be able to work there again. |

So here's a question ⁉️
Can an illegal work in the USA legally and pay taxes? Is it legal to employ someone with out proper documentation, valid visa or green card etc? Because I think that there's a difference between someone who works honestly and is willing to contribute to the development of the country, than someone who's just sucking benefits. It may be better for a country to keep the worker and swap out the benefit junky!

no , but there are ways to work around it as our system is not perfect ,
if we had a national sales tax and no income tax everyone would be paying the tax no matter your status or your business legal or illegal , but then the people breaking our laws would be exposed - even the politicians and they dont want that but yes , if you are legally working here you would pay taxes , if your not legal and working for someone that employed you knowing that your not - the employer is holding alll that back so you see the incentive and you see what we are complaining about

No & No. There's a Visa with a right to work, used for things like student exchanges, Camp America volunteers & so on, but it's time sensitive, when the visa expires you should be gone. One of the big deals with immigrating LEGALLY is getting a Social Security number. To do that you have to prove (by showing the appropriate visa or Green card) that you are a LEGAL RESIDENT.

Employers are supposed to use a website called E-Verify to ensure the person they are about to hire is legal unfortunately many shady companies pay their employees under the table to save money on the employer provided benefits such as social security, overtime, paid vacation, holidays, healthcare, unemployment benefits, and OSHA requirements.
Agricultural especially abattoirs and meat packing plants along with the service industry are the places illegals will most likely be taken advantage of. Having said that. illegals overburden our hospitals, dumb-down our school districts, over-use social welfare programs and commit many crimes that simply wouldn't have happened if they weren't in our country.

When I came here to work at Lockheed 27 years ago, I had to have a green card (permanent resident). I had to show that green card and produce my social security card too. I suppose since Lockheed is a government contractor, there are more rigorous checks to ensure the law is followed. But that seems unimportant for one half of the country anyway. The process was not easy or cheap, but I followed it.

Yes,this exactly replicates my process. Did you get the joy of having a life-sized thoracic X-ray stapled into your passport for several months? I did! then the "Final interview" after arriving here the guy at Federal Plaza asked why. It was a T.B. thing & had been dropped 30 years before! ![]() |

Yup, same-same here. I won't go through all the hoops I had to jump through to get my K1 (Fiancee) visa which gave me a conditional Green card for 2 years which then had to be converted to a Permanent Resident status. The headache, no, that's not descriptive enough, the NIGHTMARE really began when I applied for U.S. citizenship. Everyone I dealt with at the I.N.S. was either Black, Hispanic, or East Indian and BOY! did they feel comfortable in expressing their hatred of White people. Open, seething hostility coupled with glee at jerking me around was all part of the process. There is absolutely no exaggeration in any of what I have posted, in fact the true treatment I received would have most of you scoffing that no one would have been treated so poorly. I was.

I came on "the genius visa", the same on Melina Trump did. ![]() I "possessed a skill not commonly available to American workers in my field." I knew how to process photographic film in filtered sea water. No big deal till you're working on a ship as a photographer & you're getting milled a dollar a gallon for fresh & using several gallons every hour! I met & fell for my first ex & we were debating whether we'd settle in the US or the UK. She went to the UK for her first & only trip, arranged months in advance during the massive Coal miner strikes of the late 70's. We decided The USA. The entire porcess was designed, IMO to push my buttons & see if i REALLY REALLY REALLY was interested in coming here. I think I may have prolonged it by passing most of the confusing, duplicated & expired hoops, but Hey, it was the price of admission & I paid it in full. It came to a head at "the Final Interview" in Manhattans Federal Plaza. There was "just one more step". AGAIN, I'd been passing "just one more steps" for 2 1/2 years & lost the job that was waiting for me in the US. Gail broke before I did. She stood up cursed (unusual for her), stared the guy right in the eye & said, "Thanks, but [insert expletive here] but we're leaving now, getting a cab to The airport & leaving as soon as possible!" I don't think he was expecting that. The final test was to reach across his desk & shake his hand as a new Resident of The USA. ![]() |

Thanks paddy, yes, I'm glad too I became a U.S. citizen. I've always believed two things: you need to be a fully participating citizen of the country you live in and give something back. I was too old to join he National Guard when I moved here, even with prior service in Canada but I was able to join the State Guard which I served in for 4 years.
You would have laughed had you seen me learning American drill though! Shamu, my poor wife broke down in tears after one of the jerking arounds we got. Standard operating procedure was to be seen by an I.N.S. officer in the order of your arrival at the facility. My wife and I got in line bout 3:30 a.m. with about 50 Mexicans in front of us and approximately 250 in line behind us when the doors opened at 9:00 a.m. We were the only Gringos. We sat and we sat and we sat not daring to step outside to get a burrito at one of the two food trucks in the street behind lest we get shuffled to the end of the line. Well, we didn't have to worry about, they had no intention of seeing us until every last Hispanic person was served first, yes, we were dead last to be seen, just before 5:00 pm. We had been waiting without a bite to eat since we left the house at 2:30 a.m. - over 14 hours. The officer(Hispanic) took a look at everything we had brought in as per the instructions in the letter from the I.N.S. bank account information, paid bills, marriage license, and mail proving that we were still cohabitating, forms filled out in exquisite detail, fees paid, paychecks, taxes, etc. etc. Then as he had checked off the last of the required forms and what not he asked my wife about some other form that wasn't on the list. We hadn't filled one out because we had never heard of it, sorry he said you'll have to make another appointment to come in with that form. My wife, tired and hungry got a little short with him and told him that we had brought in everything they had required and the little jerk smirked at us and threatened to toss our file in the garbage! That's when she lost it and started crying. If I ever see that little p***k again.

Oh yes Every step was "Just one more thing" & "It'll only take a couple of weeks." 3 years of it. The high point was "Police Reports"! One from each country I'd even visited for even one day. For those unfamiliar if you're not a criminal there aren't any! One of them was from Dade Co. Fla. I knew a female officer there & called for her help from England. She put the Sheriff on. After some explaining he told me he'd fix it. Back to Grosvenor Square. The immigration occifer was gobsmacked. Apparently he, via his cop connections got it sent to a secure teletype in a basement office "That Didn't exist"! It basically said "he's fine, we owe him a few favors don't be a d**k"! It was the only high point. |

My wife is Scottish. I know full well the crap you deal with to be come a US citizen. She did her paper work when she was with our second child.
She got upset and the Scottish Gaelic came out. The Government people did their bests to get here out of there and on her way. I think she upset them. |
