Anyone hear this before?

Fluid film (wool wax) for bare metal. It takes a while to dry though.

Renaissance wax is also used on collector coins, especially bronze/copper to protect the surface from oxidation. It changes the color of copper coins into a more rosy or brownish tint type look, un-natural for sure and has devalued many high end collector coins as a result.

I have read some people put it on guns. It was news to me.

I use a product on my pattern 53 Enfield, that leaves the barrel looking like I had it chromed.(& I was accused of that more than once).
It also works wonders on the brass parts.
I dunno if its available stateside or not. I brought a tube to Rhino's a few squares back cuz he couldn't source it.

Kroil in copious amounts with #0000 steel wool. Then wipe down and then apply Fluid film. Only way to go. You do not want to use a thick agent like fluid film and steel wool together as any rust particulate loosened with will stay in the thick medium and literally scrub any original finish between it and steel wool. Flushing with kroil and steel wool makes the initial cleaning proper to avoid the abrasive attack.
