he!!o everyone,
I have just found this forum while searching the internets for a front sight adjuster tool so I thought I would join up and say he!!o. I own a couple of SMLE's and bayonets, ammo boxes, CHARGER clips, slings, pull troughs, oil bottles, bags etc. My first SMLE I purchased 25 years ago, a Enfield 1916 No1 mk3* for $50 I have recently added a 1943 No.4 Mk1 and a 1917 Lithgow Mk3/No2 22lr to the collection, along with the accessories to suit. As already mentioned, I am looking to purchase a No1 Mk3 front sight adjustment tool. I would like an original tool, rather than the new ones that you can buy. Also, what is a good resource for 1907 Bayonet markings? Cheers David. |

welcome , glad you joined us ,
first before someone else goes all tony on us all - they are "chargers" we on this side of the pond often make the mistake of relating them to naked women and paper fasteners but on this site we try to be a bit more proper , the bayonets are available on multiple sites although ive not bought one in many years - thus my contacts are old and obsolete , i will look , but i remember one there in austrailia that had some good stores backwhen , |

Welcome to the forum. The website: "http://worldbayonets.com" would be a good place to start. Lot's of useful info there for all types of bayonets. You could also post photos here if it's for your Lee Enfield bayonets. |

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Ah yes, "Chargers" may we never speak of the naked ladies again!
It is not a Bayonet I am after, I have a few already. Its a decent list of all the markings they had. I have found a few websites with very good information, but I am yet to find the actual markings on my own bayonets. We are having an Arms & Militaria fair here this weekend, I will go and have a chat to Ian Skennerton and see if I can buy his book "British & Commonwealth Bayonets" Here is a close up photo of the markings on the stock of my No.2. It is my favourite at the moment, recently purchased in very good condition, it shoots very accurately.
