thank you for your encouragement!

Trying to speak English properly, it is hard work!

But it's a real pleasure because it allows me to enjoy the forum more and appreciate the contributors!

Only one wish : to be fluent

(and shoot the Lee Enfield Thumbs Up)

Regards

I dunno...when I was in Normandy 5 yr ago the gendarmes I spoke to used perfect english. By perfect I mean NO accent of any type, the use of our typical coloquilisms (ie: yeah, whats up? etc).
& here I was trying my best to speak "French" with my little bit of Canadian french. (They even told me " Your proboly better off speaking English...cuz yer French sucks!)

If you can speak "Southern" you are all set. You will be assimilated if you can drink shine and call out a Rebel Yell.
Always looking for military manuals, Dodge M37 items, books on Berlin Germany, old atlases ( before 1946) , military maps of Scotland. English and Canadian gun parts.

My girlfriend, when I lived in France was taking "English as a foreign language". Her oral (English) teacher was from Brooklyn, NY so she spoke English with a Brooklyn "toity tree & too toids" & "Its a toitle, moitle" Brooklyn accent.
I, speaking "Brizzle" accent/dialect Probably didn't help much either.Cry

"I particularly like the Lee Enfield 22lr, n° 2, 8 & 9, I dream of a real n° 7, but I'm not sure I'll be able to find it as they are so hard to."

Welcome from Canada

Have you considered importing a No7 from Canada. There are lots here, and Canada don`t want us to have guns Unhappy, so it should be easy to get one out of here.
Mind you they tend to be a bit pricey.

Cheers
shoot em if you got em
