I got a call from our club competition secretary yesterday.
He informed me that I have qualified for the Match Training rifles class, and just scraped through the cut with the No4 rifle in the standard bolt action class.

The event is late June at the Centre National Tir Sportive in Chateauroux.
Luckily it's only about two and a half hour drive. The ranges are where the Olympic shooting was held.

So now I need to get practicing.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Excellent Shaun!

I’ll make a humble suggestion, if you can’t get the time for doing live fire practice at least once a week, set up an area in your house, or outside, to do dry fire practice. Make up a small target with a black aiming mark with the diameter scaled to the distance for dry fire so that it appears the same size as the targets you shoot at in competition. 15 to 20 mins of dry fire every night will improve your scores, this really helps reduce rifle movement during striker release by concentrating on follow thru.

Well done Zed!  Following on Britrifles comment I can highly recommend the Strikeman laser training system.  I mainly use mine for pistol practice but they make a laser cartridge in .303 British.

Thanks for the support!
Sapper, I have the Laser Hit system for my .45 pistol. It's a good system, but I don't use it enough at the moment. I expect the Strikeman .303 laser would work with my system.
For the.22, I can remove the little firing pin from the bolt head, for dry fire.

Great news, Congratulations!
