Last Saturday at the local gun show I picked up the only Enfield bayonet I saw in the building. It's a 1942 Wilkinson P1907 in a Mangrovite scabbard with an RAF frog. Unfortunately I can't quite read the second number on the date on the scabbard. I'll keep trying it in different light and magnification. Also, the blade has been sharpened but you can tell it was done a long time ago. Now I just need to get a BSA dispersal rifle to pair it with LOL

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

i agree he found a good one , when i was looking for my dispersal i could only find ausie mades in that era , it miffed me to say the least , so my 42 dispersal BSA always was paired with a 42 lithgow bayo , i was never quite happy with that , particularly since my dispersal never served in austrailia or their service , i looked a long time - had i found that id have grabbed it up

great buy ,

I got a P07 at the Raleigh North Carolina show on the March 16.

Dropped a hundred dollars out the door.

WWII blacken blade, Australia scabbard. Can not read the maker mark.

Yeah, I say Paddy got a screaming deal. I paid $200 for this one and didn't bat an eye at the price since they go for at least $175 all day long around here, without a scabbard.

I went in the afternoon on Sunday afternoon, the last day of the show.

Had my four year Grandson in tow.

Walked around and looked at lots of stuff. Much to see with his young eyes.

Walked pass the P07 twice as the seller was not free to talk to me.

On my third time I spoke to him on the best he could do for cash. The asking price was $130.

Maybe it was the luck of the day or that my Grandson was laying down a smile . The seller took my $100. Handed the P07 to my Grandson and out the door we went.

We went home and put the P07 away.

He told his Mother we got a sword. My Daughter just rolled her eyes.

It works for me.

The Grandson has a lifetime hunting and fish license for the state of North Carolina. I am bad.

I took more pictures and will post them tomorrow when I'm on my computer. Blade is 5 of 42. Scabbard looks to be 43 to me. Has traces of green paint on the ricasso. Frog has something on the backside but no amount of playing with angles and lighting makes it legible. After a closer exam I am quite happy with this one.
