You hit the nail on the head with that one A square, I've started selling off some of my mammoth collection of militaria since I no longer reenact and the gear is piled up everywhere. The returns on investment are quite good for stuff that was picked up as recently as 15-20 years ago. I recently sold an Indig rucksack that was provided to SOG and LLDB troops by CISO during the Vietnam War for $400. I only paid $125 for it 15 years ago, got to enjoy it for years and then make a tidy profit from it. Some stuff I sell for what the market will bear but lately I've been helping out some of the younger buyers interested in collecting by selling below market to get new shooters going. I recently sold a very nice all matching excellent bore Lithgow to a young collector for $650 which was well below market in my area.

thats more what i did - very little to no proffit , i bought itto enjoy it and did for a good number of years ,
i tried to see that they went to those that would appreciate them , i actually gifted a couple of them to people that had asked to buy and had gifted to me in the past , i only sold what was worth what i had paid for them , i did hold back my trainers and inglis as well as a webley i could not part with
