Blue steel ends - yes it has a Canadian marking in it and info I found stated - At the end of the Savage contract in 1944, all the Savage spares were shipped up to Long Branch. A lot of those "Savage" slings were apparently assembled in Canada.

not at all hard to believe considering the savage production was all lend lease or gifted war effort for commonwealth use , none of it saw US service , in 42 everything was needed immediately in service , im surprised it is in this condition , must have served in canadian home front service , i think you found one that was well preserved and well worth having , it would look great on a savage rifle tho ,
