Recent purchase which I thought would kinda look good on my '45 GRI Mklll* ShtLE .
Original maker of this bayo was Vickers . before the Indian conversion.

Is it just me or do some of the Indian made and converted 12" bayonets have really good bluing? The bluing on your bayonet looks great. I have a Wilkinson Pattern-1907 Bayonet that had been cut-down in India and the bluing is great (it also has "trace ammounts" of black paint in the fuller).
From what I have read and heard, the 12" Pattern-1907 "type" bayonets were only converted/newly made in India. The question I have is: would these be only issued Indian units or would they be also used by British/ British Empire troops serving in the Far East Theatre in WWII? Mark |

I have a nice WW II vintage mauser bayonet that was reworked into a Hunting knife. Good steel and nice blue.
