Thanks for thinking of us. It's amazing how lucky we are. Literally houses devastated to the North and South of us and damage east and west of us. I have never been so close to something like this. The lights flickered and then went out. So I checked my phone for warnings because that was the only was we could. Then I actually stuck my head out the front door and saw a man riding his bike like no tomorrow and looking behind him. I then heard the "train" sound and told James to come listen. We decided to gather up our furry family and go to the basement. As we went through the kitchen I took one last look through the window and saw nothing but grey horizontal rain and debris swirling around! I screamed for us to high tail it as stuff started hitting our house. We sat downstairs for about 3 minutes and everything went calm. We came out and realized we had no damage but saw the trees down all around us. I went to our neighbors behind our alley to check their street and saw trees on houses and cars! Later we decided to walk 2 BLOCKS down to Lowry and REALLY realized how lucky we are. Roofs removed, halves of houses gone. Trees split in half and pulled the bark right off of them, branches hurled through roofs like butter, and businesses wiped out. Today I finally tried venturing out, and realized how much I didn't even see. Roads are closed in all directions. And as the detour wound me around north of Dowling the damage continued! All the way to 94 billboards were ripped off, windows blown out and full trees hurled into the river. Today I count my blessings again.
