As it seems that several members of the site are ex-military, I'm hoping I can get boot recommendation. Many years ago, I bought a pair of black leather work boots. I had them resoled several times, and they lasted me three times as long as some of the works boots other guys bought. A buddy of mine was ex-artillary and he showed me how to give them a proper polishing. Those boots used to pop! Others would laugh and say they're just going to get dirty, why bother. I'd give them a thourough cleaning/polishing about once a week. I miss that, and now it seems every hunting/work boots is nylon or some other material other than leather. Does anyone have a favourite tough, polishable, durable black boots brand? Thanks!

I love my Terra Canadian military steel toed work boots! They have a textured top grain leather finish so I doubt they would take a glossy polish but gee are they comfy and 100% water proof! They are CSA Grade 1 certified and have a Vibram sole. Just excellent boots and I use them in the bush and quad riding. They are insulated as well designed for temperate climates.

I understand the Aussies use Kangaroo leather in their military boots. Its supposed to be superior to regular leather

Might be hard to find now a days, but my favorite blk boots were the Canadian forces garrison work boots. they polished up mirror like, miss mine, wore them for decades.
