that very first one is the one i was never able to find , that one never quite got accepted by WD as they were still stuck on the 455 , eventually they did accept the 380 but not till years later when that was long gone and webley was falling out of favor , great collection ,

I recall reading a great humor story about a British gunsmith in the Webley plant during WWI who's job it was to make odd alterations to the design and they were the purpously left after retreats to confound the German engineers. Can't recall at all who wrote it but it was a funny and good read.

The Webley-Pryse came home from an Army vet that bought it at a bazaar in Afghanistan. I can only imagine it was left (taken) by some tribesman after a British loss.

Very nice Webley collection Gunner. Have some myself, a MkVI, Webley Wilkinson 1910, a MkIV, a W-G target and a Constabulary. Not shown is my grail gun, a Webley Fosbery target. Don’t have any Enfields though. The shaved MkVI .45acp was in bad shape when I got it, was so far out of time it was shaving lead bad enough that I stopped using it. I however had a spare uncut .455 cylinder and met a gentleman from Britain through another forum’s conversation that had a pawl and nice grips to sell me. Between his parts and my unshaved cylinder the MkVI has perfect lockup now and shoots great.

i would love to shoot a CAS match with you one day , i think the shooting would be fun but the after discussion would be great , we might be in a small group that understood what we were talking about but then the webleys were on the western frontier - i think i recall custer had them
these were mine once , a couple still are

will do , id love to shoot with you ,
there are a couple missing in those photos , in addition to the webley 22cal mkVI i also have a 22cal mkIV , and then there are the inglis pistols , and now most of them are gone ...........you get to a certain age and you start to pass them on to the future - we need them preserved , ive tried to sell to buyers that cared the same way ,
