About 5 years ago i bought a Enfield no4 mk1 from a buddy who he bought from a guy that was taken apart, the owner before my buddy covered it in wood varnish.

Im having no luck with the very few markings to find where it was made and when, only the bolt and receiver have Serial numbers both not matching, i have a few pictures of the markings i found but i nor my buddies can make them out. im not the best at taking pictures.

Howdy from Phoenix Arizona Brach.
The only information I can give you is, according to the serial number on the wrist, the rifle was made at the Fazackerly factory. There should be a stamp on the flatside of the reciever showing No4Mk1 followed by an (F) or ROF or something.

thanks for the info. after the No4mk1 it has no markings or even remnants of any. its a very strange rifle marking wise to me and others that have seen it, at the end of the barrel its marked with best as i can make out is "AI SI ALB VI" with "303 UK" under it.

The marking you refer to is an import stamp.

(Brain Fart) I cant remember the name of the importer - (I'll remember in about 5 mins). but it stands for A---Imports, St.Albans, Vermont.

.303 is the caliber & the UK manufacture stamp.

This stamping was instituted in the U.S. - I believe - after 1968 for imported firearms.

There will be someone along with more info, I'm sure

"Century Arms International". The "C" may be weakly struck?

I attached a link to a website that lists examples of import stamps on US M1 carbines.  I have actually found Lee Enfield import marks in this reference.  This makes sense as the same importer was busy buying any rifles he could sell.  Hope this helps.  Century Arms has several different stamps.
