Hi All,
I am restoring (i think) a No 4 Mk2 for a buddy and notice that the rear sight seems to lean forward slightly, moreso than my own. Though it can be pushed forward and rearward easily this is the position the plunger seems to want to keep it in.
Can any one tell me if this is likely to be problematic when shooting ?
Thanks -
Brian.

The correct position of the sight is 90 degrees and perpendicular to bore and the bolt. You will find a spring and a cam under the sight that may be worn or just require cleaning. I had one that had a small piece of debris that caused this very same problem. More then likely a good cleaning of that assembly will correct it. However I was not able to tell any difference is point of impact or accuracy with my sight slightly off the right angle position. Good luck.

Cookie is right, The first thing to do would be to pull the sight off and clean and oil the spring and plunger and reinstall it.
I wouldnt imagine that it would affect the shooting much.
