I'm getting excited. Put up my tree stand and set up my pit blinds last weekend, sited in my stubby (17.5") barreled self-bubbafied No4 Mk1 with some hand loads. Worked up a variety of loads using varying loads of IMR4895 pushing Hornady 174 gr SPRN Interlock and 150 gr Spire Point Interlocks. Most of the test loads grouped nicely. Settled on 43.5 gr load pushing the 150 Spire Points since it groups very well and hit just 2 inches above the POA. The heavier 174gr loads were hitting quite a bit below the POA.

In any case, at the close ranges I'll be shooting (40-70 yards) I am confident the 150 gr Interlock will get the job done come deer season as long as I do my part. Now for the loooong wait until opening day :(

Be well all, and happy hunting!

Actually, it's in Northern Wisconsin. My wife and I purchased some land to hunt up there awhile back. Got tired of dealing with the weekend warriors on the public land here in IL. Muzzleloader season wasn't to bad, but shotgun season got too crowded for my liking. We'll be retiring up there after the girls get through college.

I have deer whistles on my car and so far they seem to work.
Always looking for military manuals, Dodge M37 items, books on Berlin Germany, old atlases ( before 1946) , military maps of Scotland. English and Canadian gun parts.

I had those whistles on my old motorhome and they do indeed work as advertised.

well, according to "Marketplace" on TV...they don't.
They also said that it was a classic case of "quackery"
Methinks the fact that you have the "whistles" and haven't had a meeting with the deer is more due to coincidence than it is to physics

Well then my only other explanation is my buddies hootin' and hollerin' out the windows on the trip, you know how we hooligans can be at the start of hunting season.....just sayin', lol.

well now, that explains it!
Before the automobile, there was horse-drawn wagons. If U had to go barrelling thru anyplace, ya always whooped - up all the "REBEL YELL" U could muster...less some poor dumb clown gits hiself runned over!
