That woman ruined Britain. During her period in office it became clever to rip people off. We got the 'Yuppie culture'. before 1979 I could leave my door unlocked, in hot weather I could leave my windows open. By 1981 I had installed security devices and learned to trust no one.

Without her the country would be in ruins - run by the Unions with someone striking every week, the 'Black Lives Matter' riots are nothing to what we would have if she hadn't sorted out the country.

Fortunately her Anti-Europe stance means that the seeds she sowed have now come to fruition and we are no longer under the yoke of the Federation of the United States of Europe and their ever increasing demands for more money from the 'club members'.

She wasn't all 'good' but the benefits to the country far, far outweigh the negatives.

It would appear that if you were involved in coal mining - you didn't like her. Seems most people were unionized..unions didn't like her, either. Then there was the issue of unemployment, ever increasing taxes. Her fortunes were flagging badly. Then the Falklands issue arose.
Behind the scenes most of the Prime ministers before her had been trying to find a way to "off-load" the Falklands due to the $ drain it represented & the fact it was no longer needed as a coaling station for the admiralty. This played right into her hands & she whipped the nation up to a fever pitch. Her popularity shot up over night.

Back then unions had become way too powerful. the balance was lost.
I wasn't a fan of the Iron Maiden. But she did whip "the Transient Genital Workers Union" & The NUM(pties) back into line.
Strikes were insane, months, not weeks long & with other unions (who had no part in the dispute) "coming out in sympathy" & all being paid through union funding!
The infamous "Grunwick's" strike had over 1,000 pickets!
all 3 of them here

Its actually The TGWU & THE NUM that finalize my decision to leave permanently. My first wife was American but wanted to live in the U.K. But she'd never been there. So we went on a trip so she'd have some idea of the place before deciding.
Our friends who we were staying with so she could see it from a resident, not a tourist POV had no coal, & no electric the entire time we were there (a month!) in winter in the Welsh hills. We actually evacuated to the cottage because it had wood, coal, water & power, but you had to keep cleaning & restocking the fireplace & she absolutely hated it.

Maggie was a mix of good and bad. She invented a weapon that destroyed lives and left property undamaged! it was the "Intercontinetal Ballistic Mortgage"
Sell off the rented "Council" houses (Gouvernment owned housing) to the tennants; who are often lower wage factory workers. Encourage them to buy their own house at a cheap price with a 25 year mortgage of around 7%. Then 2 years later the rate is up to 15% and your mortgage cost has doubled. Can't afford the mortgage so house get's reposesed  by the Bank. No council housing left to find an affordable home, coz' they've sold it all. A lot of people got screwed back then!

I think the Poll Tax was the final nail in her coffin.
"The Community Charge, commonly known as the poll tax, was a system of taxation introduced in replacement of domestic rates in Scotland from 1989, prior to its introduction in England and Wales from 1990. It provided for a single flat-rate per-capita tax on every adult, at a rate set by the local authority. The charge was replaced by Council Tax in 1993, two years after its abolition was announced.[1]"

Yes I had forgotten about the poll tax. I was working abroad in 87-88; then left again in early 1990; so missed out on some of that.
