I've read over the years about dropping a 1/8th thick washer between the shell holder & the bottom of your full lenght resizing die to turn it into a neck sizeing only Die ! For Years I've had a quiet chuckle & muttered ....w**kerS under my breath ! Well I was doing some reloading today (yeah in a fit of madness ! Why do it yourself when you have kids ! ) I thought to myself just for a giggle I'll try this washer idea ,for myself & then I can really bore it up people who have suggested this idea ......................................Yeah it works a Treat ! Just set your full lenght resizing die as per normal ,slip a case into the shell holder ,drop the washer over the case & it just sizes the neck ! Yes I checked the cases through the rifle & they fed perfectly !
I thought for those who buy LEE dies esp the RGB ones that come wth only a full lenght resizing die it is a great idea! Yes I know you can back the die off a 1/8 of a inch off the shell holder! But for a learner or inexperianced reloader I think this is the way to go ! Opinions ? |

Dave, I used the washer, but ran the die down on that to set the die. The remove washer, and proceed as normal.
Remember kids, this is for bolt action rifles and single-shots! Auto-loaders don't do well with neck size only! Ed |

Well we cant have self-loaders here in Australia (unless your a pro like dave) so it doesn't really apply. I have heard pumpys and lever-actions have to be FLS though.
I might try that depending on how tight things get. |

You've hit the nail on the head there Young Hatchet! Good point ! I also recomend full lenght resizeing ammo your going to use for hunting ! I only FLR when my cases become sticky ,but I have the luxury of haveing at least 200rnds at my disposel of a night so a sticky case can be put to one side to be pulled down & resized at my leasure! When it comes to hunting large creatures that can & will cause greviuas bodily harm to the bloke who wounded it ! I take no chances ! I always FLR just to ensure no feeding problems! Even in a bolt action !
