I have 10 of these #1/MK3 bolt heads in varying lengths if anybody needs one or more.These are all in great condition. PM me for further details.

I am looking for some bolt heads. i am building a 1917 No1 MkIII. How do I know which bolt head fits? Are these still available?

Yes I still have them and I am not well versed in #1/MK3 bolt head spacing but someone here should be able to help.

2 things,

1: "Over clocking", the bolt should go past alignment a little, but not more than 20° when fully screwed in.

2: They do not come in "numbers" like the No4 ones do. Ideally you want one that's still unmatched (but that can be a struggle) they are ID'd by an "L" on the bolt face. Failing that measure what you need & get one longer then re-grind yourself.

The only  headspace you need to set is less than FIELD = 0.074". (The 0.074" is more important than the "FIELD" designation if there's a choice)

They went fast! A good shooting bud home gunsmith told me that if my bolt closes on a case with a single layer of painters tape on the end I’m good. If it closed on 2 layers of tape it’s not good. My Mk3’s bolt closed fine with a little force at the end with a single layer of tape.
