Hi,
I joined a little while ago, but really haven't been active. Here is my collection of Enfields. In the middle is a Long Lee, I really need a rear sight for it if anyone has any leads. Thanks!

Hi Coachman1967, Welcome from another newbie. That's a nice collection you have there. I only have one and I'm in the middle of restoring it. Still trying to get a screw to start so I can get the fore stock off. Oh well.... may need to just cut it out and buy new wood. Still have a few more tricks to try. Have fun at the range. Jimmy

Just some fairly sound advice in regards to the screw you mentioned. A question first. What screw are you referring to? Cutting it out would be an extreme last resort. Getting new wood is not as simple as it sounds, especially if the wood you would be needing is for a No1Mk111/* which has become almost unobtainable unless you have a definite, "IN" with someone. The No4 furniture set in also becoming quite elusive as well. Prices for both have nearly doubled in just the last few years. If you could share with us the screw you are having an issue with, some of here including myself, could offer a viable solution in removal without damaging the furniture. Give it a think...

Thanks Goosic, I think it's called the stock bolt. It goes straight thru from one side to the other and right in front of the metal ring separating the butt stock. It's a No4 MK1. I appreciate any advise. Thank you

That's a No 4 Mk2 stock cross bolt (& nut) The stock bolt is the big one running fore & aft inside the stock.
