Last .45 kits I had, what they became.

These were built using the last .45 kits I had on hand, until I make more.

Rescued a formerly hopeless #1, already "Bubba'd", scrap barrel, mangled wood.
Wood is still mangled, but the new barrel and .45 conversion should keep it shooting for many decades to come.

This is more to my usual design, a #4 built from parts.
.45 conversion, ATI synthetic stock.

Shot them both at one hundred yards before shipping, I would not hesitate to use either one for hunting.
At over $3.00 a gallon for gas, I want it leaded, 100 octane, and my windshield washed!

Knowing they were intended for regular .45 ACP ammunition, what kind of loads could be used in them if you wanted more power?

260 gr. hand-load, or 460 Rowland.

I looked up the 460 Rowland, it's comparable to the 44 Magnum.
While you would blow apart a regular 1911 with it, in the rifle you have a decent short-range hunting cartridge. So those are serious utility rifles, not just a curiosity. Have to let us know how they shoot.

How they shoot?

1.00"-1.50" at a fifty yards if the shooter does his part.

My most recent feed-back from a customer described his gun as shooting "a single ragged hole just under 1.25" at fifty yards".

Some have done better, others not quite as well.
The .45 is hardly a marvel of ballistic efficiency, the quality of available ammunition also varies, widely.

I will be curious to see how these two guns do, if the owners remember to let me know.
