seems we are doomed to relive history sometimes even tho we would choose otherwise ...

just watched trump in mpls , and am more convinced than ever we are fine - his words were well delivered and received , i think this state may turn red this year , even if it doesn't we will win , life as we know it is good , i may retire in comfort , my grand kids may grow up free as i knew it as a child ,

the democrat party is the criminals and anarchists among us - they all turned out to protest and cause trouble , wearing masks and such , not anyone we want to give credence to , much like those i recall from the viet nam days - they were communists - mostly paid instigators to cause trouble - i see the 68 chicago democrat convention playing out again , its he!! to get old - aint for sissy's as my marine friend tom would say , no law AND ORDER AND NO DISCUSSION SIMPLY CHAOS - at least we are armed ,

Currently reading an interesting book on a small French towns WWII history. Just reading about the first days of the occupation. First thing the NAZI's did was send a list of order's to local Mayor's.

High up the list is:
Confiscate all Fire arm's and Military equipment and hand in to the Nazi Authorities.
Collect all shotguns, to be kept by the Mayor's office. (I assume that the idea was that people would have to apply to the Mayor to hunt).

Funny how many modern politicians agree with the NAZI principles of "Disarm and Rule"
That's quite a bad omen for the future of our children!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

seems to me that in every case a gov't has siezed firearms from the citizenry...they have used them on the citizens.

The one thing that angers me the most with the Democrats is on one hand they will preach being tolerant of all. Yet they go right ahead and say how much they hate the President and anyone who doesn't agree with their opinions on everything. Their collective hypocrisy is absolutely staggering.

And rabid!! When I watch normal people Kp(Democrats) on CNN and see absolute hate in their eyes, it's scary! But, being from Canada, we have a left wing Prime Minister currently that I'm hoping is removed in a couple of weeks.

As long as THEY do it its "sanctioned" by their need to change for the better, as long as the ends justify the means.
Its called "cognitive dissonance" then add a healthy dose of "Dunning–Kruger effect" & its a nasty combination.
"

Cognitive dissonance theory proposes that people seek psychological consistency between their expectations of life and the existential reality of the world. To function by that expectation of existential consistency, people continually reduce their cognitive dissonance in order to align their cognitions (perceptions of the world) with their actions.

The creation and establishment of psychological consistency allows the person afflicted with cognitive dissonance to lessen mental stress by actions that reduce the magnitude of the dissonance, realised either by changing with or by justifying against or by being indifferent to the existential contradiction that is inducing the mental stress.[1] In practice, people reduce the magnitude of their cognitive dissonance in four ways:

  1. Change the behavior or the cognition ("I'll eat no more of this doughnut.")
  2. Justify the behavior or the cognition, by changing the conflicting cognition ("I'm allowed to cheat my diet every once in a while.")
  3. Justify the behavior or the cognition by adding new behaviors or cognitions ("I'll spend thirty extra minutes at the gymnasium to work off the doughnut.")
  4. Ignore or deny information that conflicts with existing beliefs ("This doughnut is not a high-sugar food.")"

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is. The cognitive bias of illusory superiority comes from the inability of low-ability people to recognize their lack of ability. Without the self-awareness of metacognition, low-ability people cannot objectively evaluate their actual competence or incompetence.[1]

As described by social psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger, the cognitive bias of illusory superiority results from an internal illusion in people of low ability and from an external misperception in people of high ability; that is, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others."

i haven't spent a lot of time applying actual psychology to the current socialists that claim to be democrats , ive simply been observing what they do and hearing what they say - seems there is a lot of hate for a lot of us and a lot about the country they live in , it always makes me wonder why they want to be here when they so obviously like somewhere else better , i guess i should apply a little but it will only frustrate me further

but then actually being a tolerant person i think to myself - let them say what they want , think what they want , its their right ,

its just when they suggest infringing on my rights [the same ones they have] that i get upset by them , they do like to take the rights [and money] from others for their own ideas ,
and they wear masks to a 'peaceful protest' and dont get arrested for throwing rocks and bottles at the police ,

I think a lot of them have some kind of self-loathing going on for whatever reason & are doig something called "projection".
"Psychological projection is a defence mechanism in which the human ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.[1] For example, a person who is habitually rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude. It incorporates blame shifting and can manifest as shame dumping.
  • Victim blaming: The victim of someone else's actions or bad luck may be offered criticism, the theory being that the victim may be at fault for having attracted the other person's hostility.[23]
  • Projection of marital guilt: Thoughts of infidelity to a partner may be unconsciously projected in self-defence on to the partner in question, so that the guilt attached to the thoughts can be repudiated or turned to blame instead, in a process linked to denial.[24]
  • Bullying: A bully may project his/her own feelings of vulnerability onto the target(s) of the bullying activity. Despite the fact that a bully's typically denigrating activities are aimed at the bully's targets, the true source of such negativity is ultimately almost always found in the bully's own sense of personal insecurity or vulnerability.[25] Such aggressive projections of displaced negative emotions can occur anywhere from the micro-level of interpersonal relationships, all the way up through to the macro-level of international politics, or even international armed conflict.[20]
  • Projection of general guilt: Projection of a severe conscience[26] is another form of defense, one which may be linked to the making of false accusations, personal or political.[20]
  • Projection of hope: Also, in a more positive light, a patient may sometimes project his or her feelings of hope onto the therapist

all seems to fit perfectly in my estimation , i have witnessed ever single noted example in current political rhetoric , wonder if they ever look in the mirror ??

simon - i see the usefulness of that paragraph in one sentence , but , i would never remember it in that order when needed to be presented , it is the quintessential aspect of being one of them actually can memorize that BS of Buzz Words and repeat it in proper [or improper] situations , i am not that guy , but i like that you presented it for our use ,
