To me, ADI AR2208 (sold as VARGET in the US) is like gold.  Not found a better powder in the .303 and .308 with 168 - 175 grain bullets.  Since it is made in AU, we have the additional shipping costs plus profits to be made by Hodgdon and retail outlets. 

But, we are not seeing any ADI AR 2206H (H4895) in the US for some reason.

ADI have stated back in production this year (last update August 2024):


I always figured that Hodgdon would be buying in bulk at a heavy discount.  As you say though, probably not willing to pass on the savings!  I have seen Australian wine overseas for a fraction of what we pay but I have noticed of late that the savings I used to get by buying things in the US when I am there have certainly vanished and that is even with our weak dollar.  A lot of stuff is now either the same price or cheaper here.

Pitty I cannot put a couple of 4 Kg tubs of 2208 in my suitcase when I am there in April.

i wish i could add to this but ive never loaded 303 , a lot of others , but not that , hope you get it figured out - i should think their chart would give you a high/low load for that powder
