Has anyone used the Lee Collet dies for reloading the .303 British? In some cartridges (such as the 7.5 Swiss) that leads to fired cases being stuck in the chamber after ony a couple reloadings. I generally load fairly stiff ammo to deal with the bad neighbors (bear, puma, etc) on my land.

I personally don't own any of the Collet type dies at this time, but have heard rave reviews from those who do ! My Rule of Thumb is ......For Ammo in my rifle that is carried in a situation that there is a Beast that is bigger than me or is capable of doing me bodily harm .......Full Length resized ammo every time !

I use the Lee collet die and it works well. I have 6 reloads on the current batch, and they are starting to look tired so I will try the paper-clip trick for cracks before I load them again.  This is my paper pucnching ammo, I think I'd listen to Dave and take fresh full-length resized ammo if I was hunting game that's apt to fight back!.  Ca. passed a ban on hunting lions several years ago, and we're starting to see them in places where they shouldn't be, like in the nature park at the end of my street, across from the primary school!

That's pretty much what I do. A few full-length rounds are for the critters that will stomp, chomp, claw and gore you. The rest are for regular shooting. I use the same load in both so there's no transition issue under stress. Tired cases (neck splits only) I use for blanks for when the local wolfpack sets up a midnight chorus in the yard.

I've allways full length resized, but with a twist.
Instead of just setting up the die to just touch the shellholder as the press cams over (Which goes all the way back to factory new) I set up the sizing die to JUST stop resizing when the neck sizing part reaches the base of the (expanded) neck on a fired case.
This resizes enough that the riound will chamber easily next time it is fired, but does not over-work the brass.
If anyone is interested in the setup (and doesn't know how to "smudge" a case to do this) let me know & I'll do a how-to here for you.

I pretty much Neck Size only, using a RCBS dies, for my 303. I do full length size hunting rounds for my deer gun.
Have a Nice Day
If already having a nice day please disregard
