Is the M1 Garand on the list to go?

I didn't see the M1 Garand on that list at all. It is not a 'scary black rifle' to begin with. Idiot Liberal gov't.

Hi Goosic
Refreshing to see the same take on the problem from your side of the world. Have to agree that even after all the dramas we have had down here in the last year or so, any firearms related crimes always seem to be committed by a small number of individuals who have no respect for the rest of society or the laws of the nation they live in. And its those type of persons who generally ruin it for everyone else. |

I know many fellow shooters who are impacted by these bans. Luckily for me none of my firearms are impacted by this draconian action by the Canadian federal gov't. It is a sad day for our hobby, sport and hunting community in our once great country of Canada.

Phew!! I didn't see the SKS on the list. But i did see firearms on there that they "banned" a long time ago like the Thompson sub-machine gun. Largely then..I'm not affected....THIS TIME. (You don't actually think these morons are going to stop there? )

So basically, Blair looked at the world scene, mass shootings and included those weapons used, cx4 storm, really its a plinker, mini 14/30 gona be a lot of pissed owners, Ar15 type weapons all of them, but not the Macabe Defence WTF, oh well I`ll relinquish my Ar receivers and get macabe lowers, lol. What a jug F...!!!! Stop with the gun control and go after the criminal element, whats wrong with this gov`t, catch a criminal using a firearm, put him to his knees and put one through the back of his/her head. THATS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, thats get the word out, and it would probably only need to be done once. We have gutless authorities!!!!!!

Hoadie and fellow Canadians. 15 years ago I would have freaked out, even though I don't own or never have owned a semi auto high power rifle. Does this clown know Remington, Browning and others make high end semi autos that are chambered in calibre's far stouter than a .223 or 7.62x39? Better not tell them! It's the old Liberal "divide and conquer".They pick out weapons the majority of people don't own (pistols, black assault types) ban them because if people don't own them, it doesn't affect them... yet. Like long gun registration, which was a collusal cluster f*%k, this will be too. And when the Conservatives get in, it will be repealed. The only semi auto I have ever owned and still do is a 35 year old Ruger 10/22 with a 10 round mag. Probably next on the list.

Down here most people grumbled like heck about giving up their semi autos, talked of burying them till the law was changed again. Griped as they felt that all the $$$ they had spent on their rifles would be lost. THEN the government published the buy back prices they were offering..... most changed their tune then.
Myself and all my contacts in the end smiled smuggly thinking those government mugs just handed over double the $$$$ we ever spent on our long gun semi autos. Queitly keep the amount to ourselves so the wife doesnt catch onto all the sudden cash and go out and order that top end quality bolt action rifle with an expensive scope. and still have cash in hand left over. $70 per magazine, plus $ for accesories that went with the gun. Folks came and surrendered wheelie bins full of guns that for the life of me I could not imagine a real use for unless you really believe in a Zombie Apocolpse. Also the police are getting tough on crims with guns, raiding gangpads and drug dens. most of their guns are stolen from licenced gun owners who dont lock up the guns properly. I do feel sorry for the people who were serious about 3 gun competition etc, but the government is looking at a means of allowing this to restart (maybe guns will be armory secured and only allowed out under controlled situations like club training and competition. Our target species for hunting here are deer and pigs, I have never seen anyone out hunting either using an AR15. .223 scorned here in general as being too light for deer and pigs anyway. |

If you hunt deer here w/shotgun can't go less than 20 Ga. I'd have to check..but methinks a .270 is the smallest rifle.

No mention of a buy back program... maybe later idk.
But the new program has given individuals untill 2022 to get rid of the new prohibs. Possibly a grandfather clause??, which would be worthless if you cant use them! But as of today,no buying, selling or transporting of the said 1500 weapons. |
