Glad y'all are here, pleased to make your acquaintance. I've a No2 Mk4 and 3 No4's mk1 one of which is a bitsed together Savage the others are not ill used Fazackerly and Longbranch which I'll be seeking some bits and kit for when allowed, also would like some info on making up some equivalent loads to replicate the MkVII, so the sights will be regulated correctly(I no longer hunt) If there's a smith about I would like an aperture front sight as all my eyes can see of the post is an upright blur, save me buying a scope set up,but then that's what the Savage(two groove rifling) is for so no biggie it'll save the others ...

I was just reading HonyTonk's city is on fire.
Even had to call the military firefighters from CFB Shilo in to help. This don't look good... |

Looks terrible, but supposedly confined to just a few adjacent downtown buildings.

All good! Burnt out a few rat traps downtown.Old buildings, history, probably a "lightening strike". Nobody wants to bring these buildings up to snuff. Dry weather. You do the math. Such a shame. I was planting my tomatoes yesterday, at least a mile away, and Ash was falling in my yard.

By the way, no "lightening, rain, or cloud" in the sky over Brandon yesterday.

There would have been..if paddy hadda been in one of your churches!!
Glad to hear that it wasn't another Alberta disaster. The media here had it sounding like it was time for all there to skidaddle to the hills, but you don't have any hills..could make for a "hot time" on the prairie. Damn sensationalizing media |

The main building was a school supply store. Built in 1882. Several floors. Packed top to bottom with old books, papers, etc. We haven't had any rain since the snow melt. And it's been hot. This place is/was right by the railway tracks so I'm not ruling out an ember from s hot bearing from a rail car.
